Vancouver BC, March 2017 – Columbia Networks has selected Cisco Systems for a 100 Gigabit-per-second upgrade to Columbia Networks Western Canada core data network. The upgrade will enable Columbia Networks to offer high performance connectivity for scaleable cloud services, critical business applications, and support for private broadband office premise connectivity.
Columbia Networks next-generation data network is based on a redundant 100Gbps architecture that uses high speed routing and switching technology to support digital business applications and high-performance connectivity. With high speed core network switching and fibre optic business access Columbia Networks clients will benefit from an architecture designed to enable digital business.
The Cisco Nexus 9000 Series switching platform will be used as the foundation of the 100Gbps redundant core network with support for client connections ranging from sub-1Gbps through 10Gbps, 40Gbps, and 100Gbps. The architecture supports a full suite of IPv4 and IPv6 services.
