We are Canadian technology entrepreneurs. For the past 10 years we have been operating Columbia Networks, a Canadian telecommunications company, delivering network and computing services to businesses across Canada. When we are not working, we can be found exploring the great Canadian outdoors.
Dan Salekin
President/CEO
Dan has been employed as a senior manager within Canadian business enterprises and has developed a solid understanding of the telecommunications industry in Canada as an entrepreneur, senior architect, and senior director of technology. Dan has worked for three previous telecommunication startup companies including TeraGo Networks, GT Group Telecom, and Westel Telecommunications.
Dan has worked overseas in Russia and Saudi Arabia and delivered telecommunication services to international destinations such as England, Holland, Italy, Singapore, South Korea, and the USA.
Gary Wachniak
Managing Director
Gary is a co-founder and Managing Director of Columbia Networks. Gary brings over 30 years of Telecommunications design and operations experience to Columbia Networks. Prior to Columbia Networks Gary developed data network architectures to support the growth of the Internet in Canada with Bell Canada, GT Group Telecom, and Westel.
With Group Telecom, Gary worked with a team of people to deploy Services linking major cities in North America, Europe and Asia. Gary was a Senior Network Architect on the team that designed and implemented the Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion project which was commissioned to facilitate a multi-function fibre based IP enabled network to run voice, video, Internet, security and building environmental services.
Other major projects include Design & Operational support for Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games plus many complex Data Centre builds supporting Financial Institutes, Health Providers, Cloud Service Providers plus many more industries.
